Staged in the silo once home to the snow display in “The Wild World of Weather” exhibition, The Perfect Word is a dance installation that includes a succession of six-minute solos by a cast of ten dancers. Mounted by the prestigious Peggy Baker Dance Projects, The Perfect Word interrogates the symbolic meaning of key words that relate to the natural world, our bodies, and the objects we make and use. Blending movement, voice, and projection, the project hinges on explorations that traverse many global languages, in an attempt to explore the subtlety, tenuousness, and embodiedness of communication. Throughout the project, audience members are invited to contribute their voices to an interactive soundscape and projection design by Debashis Sinha.
