New Adventures in Sound Art (NAISA) presents Silo Solos - a sound installation for the snow silo on the West Island of Ontario Place. The acoustics of the silo were utilized by Toronto sound artists Wendalyn Bartley, Anne Bourne and Lisa Conway to create a unique set of performances. These performances were recorded and are being played back using the NAISA Spatialization System into the silo for this site-specific installation. Silo Solos is the opening event for NAISA's SOUNDplay Festival running until November 13, 2016. Wendalyn Bartley, Anne Bourne and Lisa Conway are all Toronto-based sound artists and musicians. Their individual careers span the areas of electroacoustic music, soundscape composition, deep listening, experimental voice, and in some cases, alternative forms of popular music.
New Adventures in Sound Art (NAISA) presents performances, installations, symposia and workshops spanning the entire spectrum of electroacoustic and experimental sound art. Among its annual events are Deep Wireless, Sound Travels, and SOUNDplay. Events take place in Toronto and in the Near North region of Ontario. More info is available at http://www.soundplay.ca/
